"Funkstille" translates as radio silence. We all need a little Funkstille in our life now and again.
Kick back and take a moment to enjoy the silence with a glass of Zweigelt. This red grape is one of Austria's indigenous varieties which offers heaps of red-fruit flavour on a soft, supple palate.
This fine example is a bright, juicy, joyful red produced from 100% Zweigelt. Abundant red cherry, plum and vibrant berry fruits combine in an easy drinking, fruit forward red. Don't let the softness fool you. There are underlying complexities of liquorice, violets, cigar box and pudding spice. You'd be forgiven for thinking it could be Pinot Noir or a Syrah - it's actually somewhere in the middle. It's medium-bodied with beautifully ripe and light tannins and touch of spice on the finish.
This juicy wine works well with roasted duck and pork as well as around the barbecue.
