This classic Malbec is made by Estancia Mendoza, a federation of wine producing co-operatives founded in 1980.
The grapes are all sourced from Tupungato in the Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina. Which is one of the finest Malbec growing regions in the world. All the vineyards are at over 1100 metres above sea level; when the grapes are grown at this altitude the variety ripens slowly, and ensures the Malbec grapes alluring aromatics are preserved.
The wine has spent a short time in oak barrels to add complexity.
In the glass the colour is deep purple with shades of violet. The nose is full of red fruits, herbs and new wood. On the palate this has good structure and fresh juicy red fruits.
"This is a wine I keep returning to, it's become a standard in our house. Perfect to enjoy curled up on the sofa watching the TV, yet elegant enough to impress any impromptu guests. During the summer it works well with a BBQ. In Autumn it compliments a rich meaty casserole" Dan
