This blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from Vignobles Ducourt is aged for 12 months prior to bottling. On the nose there are delicate red fruit aromas with a touch of rich vanilla creaminess and this character follows through to the palate where the quite lusty flavours are held together by velvety tannins that lead on to the nicely rounded finish.
Vignobles Ducourt is based in the commune of Ladaux in the the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers region south east of Bordeaux. Their vineyards are all cultivated in the agriculture raisonnée system where they aim to reduce use of artificial pesticides and use minimally interventionist methods.
This is a claret in its prime, which will be drinking well for another 4 or 5 five years yet. Perfect with grilled or roasted red meats, or mature cheeses.

Bordeaux is a famous wine region in southwestern France which produces some of the world's finest wines. The region is home to over 10,000 wine estates and more than 60 appellations, each with its own unique terroir and wine styles.
Bordeaux wines are typically known for their complexity, depth, and ability to age.
"If anyone orders merlot, I’m leaving. I am not drinking any f*&!ing merlot".
Miles view (from the film Sideways) is not shared by everyone, Merlot is loved by many for it's boisterous black cherry flavours, supple tannins, and chocolatey finish. It is a component of some of the worlds finest wines.
One of the world's most widely recognized red wine grape varieties. It is grown in nearly every major wine producing country among a diverse spectrum of climates from Australia and British Columbia, Canada to Lebanon's Beqaa Valley.
The classic profile is full-bodied with high tannins and noticeable acidity that contributes to aging potential.
Crocodiles are the emblem of the Ducourt family because they are the symbol of the entrepreneurial spirit inspired by Henri Ducourt.
Vignobles Ducourt was founded in 1858 when Henri Ducourt settled in Ladaux, a small village in the Entre Deux Mers region of Bordeaux. His passion for wine became a profession which has passed from generation to generation.
