A mixed case of fresh, bright white wines chosen for straightforward drinking and versatility at the table.

Inside are six bottles from France, New Zealand and Portugal, each leaning towards the crisp, refreshing end of the spectrum. Some are citrus-led and mineral, others a little softer and more aromatic, but all are clean, balanced and easy to drink.

This is the sort of case that earns its keep midweek. Bottles you can open without much thought, whether dinner is seafood, salads, roast chicken or something taken from the freezer at the last minute.

You move from the bright Sauvignon Blanc character of Snapper Rock, to the coastal freshness of Bleu Blanc Piquepoul-Terret, through Loire whites with a little more texture, and into the lightly aromatic Portuguese blend from Dourum.

A useful introduction to modern everyday whites, with enough variation to keep things interesting without straying too far from freshness and drinkability.

Case contents (6 bottles)
1 × Château Canteloudette Blanc, Entre-Deux-Mers
1 × Snapper Rock Sauvignon Blanc 2022, Marlborough
1 × Bleu Blanc Piquepoul-Terret, Côtes de Thau
1 × Château d'Avrillé Chardonnay, IGP Val de Loire
1 × Domaine Elise de Beaumont Anjou Blanc AOC
1 × Altitude by Dourum White

What it tastes like
Expect citrus, green apple, stone fruit and light floral notes, backed by fresh acidity and clean finishes. Nothing heavy or oaky. Just bright, well-made whites that suit everyday drinking.

When to drink
Everything here is ready to drink now and best enjoyed while the freshness is at its best.

Food Pairing

Seafood, salads, grilled chicken, vegetable dishes and lighter pasta all work well. Several bottles are particularly good with shellfish or goat’s cheese.

Serving
Serve properly chilled, but not ice cold. Taking the bottles out of the fridge ten minutes before pouring helps bring out a little more character.

Definite bargain, especally as I found out it contained ones I'd tasted and liked when ordering individual bottles. I've found so many more new favourites with Wickhams, and tried wines from places I'd never even heard of in relation to wine. Thanks to D

I have tried each of these wines previously, so when I saw them on offer as a selection, I immediately placed an order. Each of the three has a different attraction, so I knew I'd be happy!
