This is classic Napa Valley Chardonnay, made in a generous but well-balanced style. The wine is fermented and aged over a mix of stainless steel and French oak for around 12 months, which keeps the fruit bright while adding shape and warmth from the oak.

In the glass it shows ripe pear, golden apple and dried apricot, with a gentle layer of toasted oak bringing notes of caramel and spice rather than sweetness. The palate is full-bodied and rounded, but not heavy, with enough freshness to keep everything in line. It’s the sort of Chardonnay that delivers comfort without losing definition.

The vineyards sit in the fog-influenced Napa Valley, including fruit from around the Rutherford Bench, an area better known for Cabernet Sauvignon but also well suited to structured, ripe Chardonnay. The cooling fog helps preserve acidity, even in a warm climate.

Food Pairing

This is a flexible wine at the table. It works well with roast or grilled chicken, richer fish dishes, and vegetables cooked with butter or cream. It’s also a good match for creamy soups or a mixed cheese board, where the wine’s weight and oak sit comfortably alongside richer flavours.

Chardonnay

One of the world’s most popular grapes, Chardonnay is made in a wide range of styles from lean, sparkling Blanc de Blancs to rich, creamy white wines aged in oak.

Depending on how ripe the grapes get, the flavour ranges from crisp, clean citrus and green apple, to ripe peaches and tropical fruit. Notable Chardonnays can be found in France, California, Australia, England, and beyond.

USA

The United States has a short winemaking history, but what it lacks in age it makes up for with vigour.

It is the 4th biggest wine producer in the world. Every state has some wineries. Good, cool climate styles come from New York state, Oregon and Washington State. Warmer styles are found in California where Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon lead the way.
