This powerful Merlot makes quite the impression with luscious aromatic notes of cherry, sage and plum, layered with earthy flavours of black pepper, toasted oak and dark stone fruit.
The wine is a blend of Merlot (91.1%), Petite Sirah (5.1%), Malbec (2.5%), Petit Verdot (1%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (0.3%). It spends 18 months in French and American oak which gives it a delicious rich texture and oak notes of toast and sweet spice. The intense fruit is balanced by bright acidity and fine tannins for a supple and velvety mouthfeel.
An ideal accompaniment to smoked baby back ribs, or with hearty pasta dishes and pizza.

Miles view (from the film Sideways) is not shared by everyone, Merlot is loved by many for it's boisterous black cherry flavours, supple tannins, and chocolatey finish. It is a component of some of the worlds finest wines.
The United States has a short winemaking history, but what it lacks in age it makes up for with vigour.
It is the 4th biggest wine producer in the world. Every state has some wineries. Good, cool climate styles come from New York state, Oregon and Washington State. Warmer styles are found in California where Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon lead the way.
