A Growers Touch is all about "terroir". It showcases local fruit and the uniqueness of the growers and their vineyards. Each bottle features pictures of the grower; the hands on the front of this bottle belong to farmer Isidoro Guglielmino. The bottle pays homage to the love with which he has nurtured the fruit.
The wine is made from 100% Durif (also called Petit Sirah in the USA). It has aromas of Mulberry and Blackberry with just a hint of vanilla and spice. The wine spent a short amount of time in oak which has given it a wonderfull richness. The palate is a lovely combination of red and blue fruits complemented with the fine tannins that Durif is renowned for.
This is perfect to open with Sunday lunch, although it will improve if you have the patience to cellar it for the next five years.

More Information
Australia
In 1873 French judges, tasting blind, praised wines from Australia, but withdrew when the provenance was revealed, saying that wines of that quality must clearly be French. Vines have been grown successfully in Australia since the 1820s as European settlers realised that the Mediterranean climate was ideal for viticulture.
Durif is a red grape originally from the Rhône Valley. Its parents are the little-known Peloursin and Shiraz.
Both parents are known for making intense wines with depth, flavour and length – traits Durif shares in abundance. It was discovered in the late 1800’s by Dr Francois Durif (whose name it shares). It is planted in Australia and in California under the name ‘Petite Sirah’.
Alain Guglielmino and Domenic Guglielmin, Mino & Co
Father and son, Alain Guglielmino and Domenic Guglielmin, like to keep things simple. Their aim is to display their Italian and Australian heritage through a selection of wines.
A Growers Touch range celebrates their close and trusted vine growers, showcasing high quality local fruit. Grapes are sourced from low yielding vineyards and each farmer is profiled on their wine.

Good to drink now. Worth keeping for a year or two because it may be better with age.

Lovely rich full bodied red, like a Shiraz on speed! Grew attached to ,this variety while living in Oz. A key grape in the Riverina just north of the NSW-Victoria border. Bring more in!
