An unoaked Chardonnay from Cornwall, made in a clean, direct style that suits the place. It’s fermented cool in stainless steel, keeping the focus on fruit and freshness rather than weight.

The nose is open and lightly aromatic, with apple, citrus and a faint honeyed note. On the palate it’s dry, crisp and racy, with bright acidity and a clean finish. There’s a definite nod to Petit Chablis here, but with a slightly softer edge that comes from full ripeness rather than oak.

2022 was a strong year for this wine. The fruit was ripe and healthy, and it shows in the clarity and balance. Straightforward, well made, and easy to enjoy.

Food Pairing

This works well with seafood and lighter white meats. It’s a natural match for simply cooked fish, shellfish, or grilled chicken, and particularly good with Cornish megrim sole, where the wine’s freshness lifts the dish without getting in the way.
