This wine is a blend of fruit sourced from the Marsala area on the west coast of Sicily, and from high altitude hillside vineyards near Alcamo. Gentle pressing, cool, slow fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks using selected yeasts. The wine was bottled young after a short period of ageing on fine lees in stainless steel.
Attractive aromatics of peach, honeysuckle and a hint of fennel. The rounded and gently honeyed flavours on the palate are balanced by lemony acidity.
Ideal as an aperitif or to accompany seafood, grilled fish, salads and cold white meats.

BD (before Dan), I don't think I've tried wine from Sicily, but it has a character of its own, and has turned up in the monthly white selection more than once. I usually include one of two when I choose my own.
