Château La Croix du Duc Bordeaux 2022 is a supple, fruit-forward red from the Lussac‑Saint‑Émilion appellation, one of the celebrated satellite regions of Bordeaux’s Right Bank. The area’s clay and limestone soils, combined with a temperate maritime climate, give the wine its characteristic ripe red fruit, gentle structure, and balanced acidity.
Produced by the Chollet family, who have tended these 15 hectares of vineyards since 1865, this Merlot-dominant blend also includes touches of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Careful vinification in stainless steel vats with partial oak ageing preserves the wine’s freshness while adding subtle spice and toasty notes.
On the nose, expect vibrant aromas of cherry, raspberry, and plum, with hints of vanilla and soft spice. The palate is smooth and approachable, with gentle tannins and lingering fruit flavours — making it ideal for early drinking.
Food Pairings: This versatile Bordeaux pairs beautifully with grilled or roasted red meats, duck breast, and pork tenderloin. It also complements hearty pasta dishes, mushroom tarts, and a selection of aged cheeses such as cheddar or gouda. Its approachable style makes it perfect for casual meals, family dinners, or relaxed entertaining.
