"Les Tisserands" is named after the silk weavers who created the wonderful silk fabrics by weaving the silk thread obtained from the cocoons of the larvae of the silk worm.

Made from a blend Syrah, Merlot and Grenache, the wine has an intense ruby colour in the glass. The nose is wonderfully expressive with aromas of morello cherry and eucalyptus. The palate is full flavoured, rich and fruity. The wine bears witness to the vineyard’s wonderfully warm, sunny climate.

There is a freshness thanks to its location high up in the hills. The estate is now well on its way towards formal organic accreditation and keeping things as natural as possible is the philosophy of the cellar.

Pair with simple grilled meats, pizza or pasta.

Languedoc-Rousillon, France

The Languedoc is a vast region stretching across much of the south and Mediterranean and is France`s single largest vineyard entity for its Vins de Pays wines.

Within the Languedoc lie several distinctly identified Vins de Pays (including the l`Aude, Gard and Hérault) and many appellations that maintain traditional local blends and styles such as Minervois, Corbières, Pic Saint Loup and Fitou.

Merlot

"If anyone orders merlot, I’m leaving. I am not drinking any f*&!ing merlot".

Miles view (from the film Sideways) is not shared by everyone, Merlot is loved by many for it's boisterous black cherry flavours, supple tannins, and chocolatey finish. It is a component of some of the worlds finest wines.

Syrah/Shiraz

A red grape variety that is widely planted around the world, particularly in southern France, South Africa and Australia. Typically wines are full-bodied and deeply coloured.

Generally called Syrah in the old world, or Shiraz in the new. It produces wines which are typically high in tannins and acidity, and can exhibit a range of flavors and aromas, including blackberry, black pepper, smoke, and leather.

Grenache / Garnacha

Found throughout northern Spain and southern France, there are three variants: Grenache Noir, Blanc and Gris.

Grenache Noir is the most common. It is generally spicy, berry-flavored and soft on the palate. Complex and intense notes of blackcurrants, black cherries, black olives, coffee, gingerbread, honey, leather, black pepper, tar, spices, and roasted nuts can also be found.

Bob and Pat Middleton, Domaine Les Caizergues

In August 2017 two ambitious British wine enthusiasts, Bob and Pat Middleton, bought the vineyard after seeing its potential. They have introduced more modern and environmentally-friendly viticultural and vinicultural practices.

They are always mindful of the importance of heritage and terroir. The estate was formally accredited organic by Ecocert, in 2021.
