Nestled between the Loire and the Thouet, Pierre-Adrien`s vineyards covers approximately 35 hectares. For two generations they have grown the two flagship grape varieties of the region: Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc.

This delicious red wine is made with 100% Cabernet Franc taken from 30 year old vines. In the glass it has a deep purple colour. The mouthfeel is round having been aged for six months in old oak barrels to add texture, without dominating the flavour.

The palate is an elegant balance of floral violets and iris, with fruity redcurrants finished with a touch of liquorice and clove spiciness. This is perfect to drink now but will happily improve for another 5 years.

It is perfect with cured meats or full flavoured cheeses.

Loire Valley, France

The 600-mile stretch of the Loire River valley and its tributaries make up one of France's top wine regions. The wines include famous names such as Muscadet, Pouilly-Fumé, Vouvray, and Sancerre.

Best known for white wines, the most popular grape varieties are Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, and Melon de Bourgogne. Red wines are made with Cabernet Franc and Gamay. Some of the best examples come from Saumur Champigny.

Cabernet Franc

Established in the Libournais region of southwest France in the 17th century. Cardinal Richelieu later took cuttings to the Loire Valley where it's early ripening allowed it to thrive. It is also found thoughout Bordeaux and in the USA.

It typically produces pale red wine with a peppery perfume touched with tobacco, raspberry, bell pepper, cassis, and violets.

Pierre Adrien, Vignoble Vadé

A third generation winegrower, Adrien's earliest memories are working the apple press and roasting chestnuts with his grandfather. This instilled a passion for the Saumur region and later a passion for wine.

Since then, Adrien has evolved his winemaking technique. He took over as winemaker from his father in 2014. He is proud of every bottle that leaves the winery and he can't wait to show them to you.
