This is a fabulous Crémant from Domaine Gueguen made using Pinot Noir only and gives notes of red apple, bramble fruits and lovely ripe flavours. A wonderful example, and a great alternative to Champagne.

It is bright and limpid with flecks of gold. The bubbles are fine. The aromas are fresh and fruity, marked by notes of pear, apple, and almonds. A few floral and spicy notes provide additional complexity.

A perfect Crémant for an aperitif, which can also be used as a starter with oysters, scallops or try with a main course of sole meunière.

Crémant is the name for a wine vinified with Champagne methods but outside of the region of Champagne. The Chablis area produces some of the best Crémants in France and one reason is that its soil is not that dissimilar to that of Champagne's. Definitely a wine to explore which delivers excellent value for its quality.

The family is based in Chablis between the Auxerrois and Chablis vineyards. The estate is made up of 36 hectares of vines in the villages of Chablis, Chichée, la Chapelle Vaupelteigne, Saint-Bris and Irancy.

Céline has a long heritage in the Chablis region. Winegrowers since the 16th century, her family has been working vineyards and mills around the city of Auxerre ever since.
