The northern tip of South Island has become New Zealand`s most important wine region since sheep farming and cherry orchards were first replaced with vineyard in the 1970s.
Much of the land is alluvial river basin with well-drained soils that provide an ideal environment for pungent, grassy Sauvignon Blanc.
In the heart of Marlborough, Turning Heads have a simple philosophy to accentuate all that is great about the region by utilising ripe fruit to craft premium wines. Launched in 2009, the wines are all produced from estate vineyards.
This is a classic representation of Sauvignon Blanc from the Wairau Valley in Marlborough, bursting with aromatic tropical fruit characters found in this warmer sub-region.

More Information
New Zealand
New Zealand is a newcomer to the wine world. As recently as 1960 the country had just 400 hectares of vines.
The country's two islands (North Island and South Island) cover an enourmous area, encompassing many possibilities. The maritime climate is influenced by the strong prevailing winds off the Pacific Ocean and the striking mountainous terrain.
Sauvignon Blanc is found all over the world, although it probably orignates from south west France, hence the name which comes from sauvage "wild" and blanc "white".
In cool climates it produces wines with flavours of grass, green peppers and nettles with some tropical fruit and floral notes. In warmer climates more tropical fruit notes such as peach are noticeable.
A very good traditional Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand
Quality is excellent and it’s refreshing to have wine from a boutique winery, rather than a mass produced one from the well known wineries
