A less common southern French white made entirely from Grenache Blanc. Dry, lightly textured and aromatic, with enough freshness to keep the richness in check.
This is a wine that works best young, where the fruit and floral character stay at their most open. Expect aromas of hedgerow flowers and orange blossom, followed by peach, greengage and a lightly mineral finish on the palate.
Grenache Blanc can easily become broad and heavy in warmer climates, but this keeps a good line of freshness running through it. The result is a mid-bodied white with texture and softness, but still enough definition to stay lively.
A useful bottle to have around, particularly if you want something a little different from the usual Sauvignon or Chardonnay route.
Food Pairing
Good as an aperitif or with grilled fish, shellfish and vegetable dishes. Also works well with globe artichokes or lightly spiced Asian cooking.

More Information
Languedoc-Rousillon, France
The Languedoc is a vast region stretching across much of the south and Mediterranean and is France`s single largest vineyard entity for its Vins de Pays wines.
Within the Languedoc lie several distinctly identified Vins de Pays (including the l`Aude, Gard and Hérault) and many appellations that maintain traditional local blends and styles such as Minervois, Corbières, Pic Saint Loup and Fitou.
Found throughout northern Spain and southern France, there are three variants: Grenache Noir, Blanc and Gris.
Grenache Noir is the most common. It is generally spicy, berry-flavored and soft on the palate. Complex and intense notes of blackcurrants, black cherries, black olives, coffee, gingerbread, honey, leather, black pepper, tar, spices, and roasted nuts can also be found.
Established in 1967 by Maurice Grignon, the family winemaking and trading company originally specialised in the production and sale of wine-making materials. In 1992 the company was sold and became an Association of Cooperatives and started producing wines from Languedoc- Roussillon.
The name Foncalieu is made up of letters of villages in the region of l`Aude - Fonties de Aude, Capendu - ALzonne - Montolieu.
