Familie Descombe introduces its new, natural, skin contact Chardonnay, "Miss Chardo".
The grapes are manually harvested in the South of Beaujolais, followed by an eight-day skin maceration with whole clusters. It was fermented with native yeasts, followed by a natural malolactic fermentation to express its heritage. No sulfites were added during the vinification process.
Miss Chardo offers a bright orange colour. It offers scents of apricot, delicate honey, and dried herbs. On the palate, it is light with crisp acidity, offering high finesse through the well-integrated, fine-grained tannins. Its light body, combined with its delicate finesse, makes it an easily approachable expression for new natural wine drinkers or those just starting their orange wine experience.
A great choice if you're having oily fish - like barbequed mackerel - of Thai food.

Chardonnay
One of the world’s most popular grapes, Chardonnay is made in a wide range of styles from lean, sparkling Blanc de Blancs to rich, creamy white wines aged in oak.
Depending on how ripe the grapes get, the flavour ranges from crisp, clean citrus and green apple, to ripe peaches and tropical fruit. Notable Chardonnays can be found in France, California, Australia, England, and beyond.
The hilly Beaujolais vineyards stretch out from north to south over 55km, bordered to the west by the Massif Central, and to the east by the Saone river.
Beaujolais vineyards are emblematic in the French national landscape, but are still teeming with secrets to be unearthed. The region has a constent sense of welcome and sharing. Sculpted over centuries it is personified by its 12 AOCs.
The fifth generation of the Descombe family now work their historic vineyards in Beaujolais. The vineyards are organic and the family have introduced agro-forestry principles, such as planting trees within the vineyard, to increase the biodiversity.
In 2024 Marine became the first winemaker to make the Forbes Top 40 Women list, a great recognition of the work being done by the family.
