Jesús Prieto, Juan García and Javier Domeque are the custodians of Cava at Bodegas San Valero. Their Gran Ducay D. O. Cava was launched in 1984 with the Cava Particular following in 2014 (originally this Cava was made solely for the consumption of members of the winery, so expect something rather special).
The history at BSV is evident in everything they produce. Their grandmothers and grandfathers helped launch the co-operative some 75 years ago with a vision to take control of what they owned, to work collectively for the greater good, and to provide a positive future for the next generations. This philosophy still exists, using sustainable techniques to transform their gnarly vines and stony ground into expressive harvests, but there is a palpable sense of innovation, to set new goals, to reach new markets, and to keep moving forward.
