Made in the vineyards of the Count of Foz de Arouce in the Beira Atlântico region of Portugal. This is a blend of indigenous grapes Baga and Touriga Nacional. The harvest is all done by hand and the wine is given six months in second fill French barrels to bring added complexity.
The wine has good aromatic concentration with notes of red berry fruits and resin. The palate has smooth tannins. In all the wine is well balanced with a persistent finish.

João Portugal Ramos started a personal project planting 5 hectares of vineyards in Estremoz, Portugal, where he has lived since 1988. His first harvest was 1992 and until he built his first winery in 1997 he used rented buildings.
25 years later, João received the “Senhor do Vinho” Award. Today JPR wines are present throughout the world as leaders of Portuguese wines.
