Made from 100% Cercial, a rare indigenous grape more often seen in blends, this is something a little different from Portugal’s Atlantic coast. The vineyards sit in the Beira Atlântico region, with fruit picked by hand and fermented in French oak, followed by time on the lees to build texture and complexity.
Cercial is better known for its role in Madeira, but here it shows a fresher, more linear side. Fermentation and ageing in oak barrels adds a gentle weight without overwhelming the wine, bringing a subtle layer of vanilla and smoke alongside naturally high acidity and a mineral line.
Lemon and grapefruit lead the way, with fennel and a light herbal note. There’s a clean, saline edge and a smooth texture underneath, finishing long with a touch of oak. It sits somewhere between Chablis and Atlantic Portugal in feel.
Food Pairing
Works well with grilled fish, shellfish, or roast chicken. The acidity and subtle oak also handle creamy sauces without losing balance.

Portugal
Portuguese wines are rich and diverse. From the robust reds of the Douro Valley, to the elegant whites of Vinho Verde, to fortified Port and Madeira, each style and appelation showcases the country's unique grape varieties and viticultural history.
Whether you seek bold reds, crisp whites, or luscious fortified wines, Portuguese wine is a delightful journey through centuries of winemaking expertise.
João Portugal Ramos started a personal project planting 5 hectares of vineyards in Estremoz, Portugal, where he has lived since 1988. His first harvest was 1992 and until he built his first winery in 1997 he used rented buildings.
25 years later, João received the “Senhor do Vinho” Award. Today JPR wines are present throughout the world as leaders of Portuguese wines.
