A precise, high-acid Riesling from Eden Valley. Built around lime, citrus and a clear mineral edge, with a clean, focused structure that carries through to a long finish.
Sourced from a single vineyard high on the eastern side of Eden Valley, this benefits from warm days and cool nights, helping develop flavour while holding onto acidity. The fruit is picked in the cool of the morning and handled gently, with fermentation in stainless steel to keep everything tight and defined.
In the glass, expect fresh lime, citrus peel and a light floral note. The palate is bright and linear, with sharp acidity and a stony character running through it. It’s a classic cool-climate Australian Riesling style, built more on tension than weight.
Smalltown Vineyards is based in the Barossa, working across sites in both Barossa and Eden Valleys. Winemakers Rolf Binder and Christa Deans focus on expressing each site clearly, with a hands-on approach in the winery.
This will age well, but it’s already drinking with real clarity and freshness.
Food Pairing
Good with spicy food, Thai dishes or fresh seafood. Also works well with lighter salads or anything with a bit of acidity and heat.

In 1873 French judges, tasting blind, praised wines from Australia, but withdrew when the provenance was revealed, saying that wines of that quality must clearly be French. Vines have been grown successfully in Australia since the 1820s as European settlers realised that the Mediterranean climate was ideal for viticulture.
Riesling is an aromatic grape variety with flowery, perfumed, aromas and high acidity. It can make wines running the full specturm from dry to sweet.
It originates from Germany and was once esteemed as the greatest white variety.
It's flavours span nectarine, apricot, apples, and pear. It shows aromas of honeycomb, jasmine, and lime peel, and a distinctive note of petrol.
Over the past 20 years Rolf and has established strong relationships with the best Barossa growers. Smalltown Vineyards express many of the Barossa’s prized districts form Gomersal, Kalimna as well as the Eden Valley. Using minimal intervention and natural fermentation to best capture the Barossa’s magical flavours.
