Mésa is an isolated flat-topped hill with steep sides, found in landscapes with horizontal strata. In Portuguese, Mésa is a table. Angus has crafted a wine to be enjoyed somewhere between the table and the mountain top.
His South African Pinotage is unlike any other.
Most of the juice has undergone semi-carbonic maceration, including whole clusters and then some destemmed grapes.
This makes for a fruity zippy wine bursting with freshness. Packed with bright red fruits, sweet gum drops and mild spice from the grape stems. The palate is pure bouncy, juiciness; light of body, fresh and delectable.
Unusually for a Pinotage, try serving this chilled.
Strong cheese are a good pairing.

South Africa
South African wine has a history dating back to 1659 with the first bottle being produced in Cape Town by its founder and governor Jan van Riebeeck.
South Africa is located at the tip of Africa with its wine regions located near the coastal influences of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. These regions have a mostly Mediterranean climate that is marked by intense sunlight and dry heat.
South Africa's red wine signature variety. Cultivated in 1925 as a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsaut (then known as "Hermitage"). It combines Pinot Noir’s elegance with Cinsaut’s spiciness. It can be difficult to grrow.
It typically produces deep red varietal wines with smoky, bramble and earthy flavours, sometimes with notes of bananas and tropical fruit.
Orignially from Edingburgh, Angus studied Viticulture and Oenology at Stellenbosch University. After studyinh he criss-crossed the globe hand-picking diverse and characterful wine estates to gain work experience.
He then secured cellar space at the Karibib Estate, where set about creating a range of wines that speak of the cape. Low intervention wines to showcase South Africa's grapes and terroir.
