Ca’ di Ponti Nero d'Avola 2022, Sicily

In Stock & Ready To Ship!

This is a ripe, robust style of Nero d'Avola that pairs well with food. Translated as "the black grape of Avola", it is a characterful and affordable red made from an indigenous grape variety.

It is deeply coloured and full-flavoured with aromas of wild plum and black cherry. The robust palate combines abundant brambly fruit flavours with lightly spicy and savoury notes, a hint of bitter chocolate and structured, ripe tannins.

The grapes are from southern Sicily, around Riesi - Nero d’Avola’s traditional heartland. Drink with juicy home-made burgers with a slab of mozarella, or charred lamb steaks.
