A classic Muscadet Sur Lie with all the freshness and precision the style is known for. Bright citrus fruit, a saline edge and a clean mineral finish make this a natural partner for seafood.

Produced by the Chatellier family, now led by seventh-generation vigneron Mathilde Chatellier, this comes from an estate with a long-standing reputation in Muscadet. The cuvée has earned recognition over the years, including a Gold Medal at the Concours de Paris.

The wine spends extended time ageing sur lie in traditional underground glass-lined vats. This adds a gentle texture and extra depth while preserving the bright acidity that defines good Muscadet.

Expect lemon, lime and green apple on the nose, followed by subtle pear notes and a pronounced mineral character on the palate. There is a light saline note running through the finish, reflecting both its Atlantic-influenced vineyards and the lees ageing.

Fresh, precise and balanced. Everything you want from Muscadet, with a little more depth than the everyday examples.

Food Pairing

Excellent with oysters, mussels, razor clams and grilled fish. Also works well with crab, prawns and simple seafood dishes where freshness matters.

Melon de Bourgogne

Melon de Bourgogne is a variety of white grape grown primarily in the Loire Valley region of France. It is best known as the only permitted variety in Muscadet.

The grape provides a great wine with apple and citrus notes with hints of minerality on the finish. Generally made as a still dry style, though sometimes used in the production of Crémant.

Bertrand, Christian and Marie Chatellier

A seventh-generation family estate in the heart of Muscadet Sèvre et Maine. The family has farmed these granite-rich vineyards since the 19th century, producing wines with a clear sense of place.

Focusing on Melon de Bourgogne, including wines from the respected Clisson cru, Domaine Chatellier combines freshness, texture and mineral character in a style that shows why Muscadet remains one of France's great value white wine regions.
