Made by Elizabeth Prataviera in south-west France. People often associate Sauvignon Blanc with New Zealand, but it is originally French. It translates as "wild white". This is a highly quaffable and fruity style of Sauvignon Blanc. The nose has aromas of lychees and white flower blossom. The palate is fresh, lemony, and utterly delicious.
The grapes have been grown on shallow stony soils. Vinification is in stainless steel and concrete tanks to achieve the perfect aromatic blend.
Serve this with seafood, grilled fish or goats cheese.

Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon Blanc is found all over the world, although it probably orignates from south west France, hence the name which comes from sauvage "wild" and blanc "white".
In cool climates it produces wines with flavours of grass, green peppers and nettles with some tropical fruit and floral notes. In warmer climates more tropical fruit notes such as peach are noticeable.
The town of Cahors, located in the South West, was a center of the wine trade in medieval times and was known for its "black wine", which was highly sought after by European nobility.
Another South West town, Gaillac, has been producing wine for over 2,000 years, with evidence of vineyards dating back to the Roman era.
Elizabeth Prataveira is the 4th generation winemaker and owner of Domaine de Ménard. She works alongside her brother Philippe who focuses on caring for the vineyards.
For over 100 years, beginning with Jean Francois Morel in 1920, the Prataviera-Jegerlehner family has worked with passion in their vineyards in Gascony.
