A classic Saint-Joseph from the northern Rhône. Medium-bodied and savoury, with dark berry fruit, pepper and fine tannins giving structure without excess weight.
“Les 7 Lieux” is the leading Saint-Joseph cuvée from biodynamic producer Domaine des Amphores, blended from seven separate vineyard parcels with vines ranging from 5 to 45 years old. The mix of sites brings both freshness and depth, while biodynamic farming keeps the fruit clear and expressive.
Made entirely from Syrah, around half the wine is aged for 10 months in large oak barrels, adding texture without masking the vineyard character. In the glass, expect blackberry, raspberry and blackcurrant alongside violet notes, black pepper and a faint herbal lift on the finish.
This has enough structure to age comfortably over the medium to long term, but there’s already plenty of energy and drinkability here now.
Food Pairing
Excellent with lamb, beef or richer roast dishes. Also works well with deeply savoury dishes such as ramen or slow-cooked mushrooms.
