This is a classic village Meursault from Domaine Jean Pascal, made in a style that leans into the richness the appellation is known for, but without losing balance. It is 100% Chardonnay, grown on limestone soils that give the wine its underlying freshness and grip.

On the nose there is ripe stone fruit, alongside notes of melted butter and gentle toast from around ten months in French oak. The palate is broad and creamy, but kept in check by fresh acidity and a flinty mineral edge. That tension between richness and structure carries through to a long, composed finish.

This is Meursault doing what it does best. Generous, textured, and still precise enough to feel purposeful rather than heavy.

Food Pairing

This suits richer dishes at the table. It works particularly well with chicken in a cream sauce, roast poultry, or shellfish such as lobster, where the wine’s weight and texture mirror the dish and the acidity keeps everything feeling balanced.

Chardonnay

One of the world’s most popular grapes, Chardonnay is made in a wide range of styles from lean, sparkling Blanc de Blancs to rich, creamy white wines aged in oak.

Depending on how ripe the grapes get, the flavour ranges from crisp, clean citrus and green apple, to ripe peaches and tropical fruit. Notable Chardonnays can be found in France, California, Australia, England, and beyond.

Burgundy, France

Burgundy (or Bourgogne in French) is small in size, the Côte d'Or has about 8000 hectares under vine, yet its influence is immense. It is home to some of the best known and most expensive wines in the world. Look in the right places and there is great quality and superb value to be found.

The two major grapes are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, though you can find small pockets of well-made Aligoté.
