Domaine Jean Pascal is a small family estate based in Puligny-Montrachet, founded in 1920 and now run by Jean-Luc Pascal. They work traditionally, with a light touch in the cellar and minimal use of new oak, aiming for clarity rather than weight.
This Puligny-Montrachet shows exactly why the village has the reputation it does. The style is fine-boned and precise, with notes of white peach and citrus, a subtle creamy texture, and a distinctive flinty, mineral edge. The fruit has real depth for a village wine, but it stays controlled and dry rather than showy.
Aged in oak barrels, the wine has gentle complexity and a rounded mid-palate, but the finish is driven by freshness and grip. It’s a serious white Burgundy that rewards attention, and it will improve with time in bottle.
The domaine farms 14 hectares across four Côte de Beaune communes, including Auxey-Duresses, Meursault, Volnay and Puligny-Montrachet. They also use the Guala Seal, a high-quality synthetic closure that has proved reliable in Burgundy as an alternative to natural cork.
Food Pairing
This suits food that has finesse but a bit of richness: roast chicken, veal, scallops, lobster, or turbot with butter or a light cream sauce. It also works very well with mushrooms, where the wine’s mineral edge and texture bring the dish into focus.

More Information
Chardonnay
One of the world’s most popular grapes, Chardonnay is made in a wide range of styles from lean, sparkling Blanc de Blancs to rich, creamy white wines aged in oak.
Depending on how ripe the grapes get, the flavour ranges from crisp, clean citrus and green apple, to ripe peaches and tropical fruit. Notable Chardonnays can be found in France, California, Australia, England, and beyond.
Burgundy (or Bourgogne in French) is small in size, the Côte d'Or has about 8000 hectares under vine, yet its influence is immense. It is home to some of the best known and most expensive wines in the world. Look in the right places and there is great quality and superb value to be found.
The two major grapes are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, though you can find small pockets of well-made Aligoté.
The Domaine was founded in 1920 in Puligny-Montrachet. It comprises 14 hectares of vineyards across four communes of Cote de Beaune, Auxey Duresses, Meursault, Volnay and Puligny-Montrachet. This small family domaine embodies meticulous traditional winemaking with minimal use of oak.
