One of the more convincing Saint-Émilions in the campaign. Plenty of depth, but without the flashiness that often comes with the appellation.

Château Mangot 2025 is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé from the limestone slopes and plateaux of Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse. The blend is led by Merlot with an unusually high proportion of Cabernet Franc, giving the wine freshness, tension and aromatic lift alongside the depth of the vintage.
The 2025 is made from 60% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. Vinification is gentle, with slow extraction and ageing across a mix of barrels, amphorae, foudres and stainless steel to preserve fruit purity and the chalky character of the terroir.
Owned by the Todeschini family, Mangot is certified organic and biodynamic (Biodyvin). The vineyard sits on clay-limestone soils with a strong limestone influence, which gives the wine its mineral edge and freshness. Around 15% of the estate is maintained for biodiversity, including woods, hedgerows and grassy corridors.
The 2025 has the structure for ageing but avoids heaviness. Expect dark fruit, floral notes, fine tannins and a saline, chalky finish that feels distinctly Saint-Émilion rather than oak-led.
Drinking Window
Likely to start drinking well from around 2030, with the balance and structure to develop through the 2040s.
Food Pairing
Works well with roast duck, lamb, beef, game and dishes with earthy flavours such as mushrooms or lentils.
