The Lunaria "La Belle" Malvasia 2021 is a bright, aromatic white from the Adriatic coast of Italy. This wine has lifted notes of orange blossom, ripe peach and subtle mineral character that make it fresh, lively and immediately approachable. Made with care by a small biodynamic producer, it shows purity of fruit and a sense of place that comes from hands-on vineyard work.
"La Belle" is perfect as an everyday white or for special meals where freshness and character matter. It pairs beautifully with seafood dishes, grilled fish, shellfish, light pasta with olive oil, or fresh goat’s cheese. Chill it slightly and serve as an aperitif to highlight its aromatic charm.
This Malvasia is a great example of why we love biodynamic wines. Low intervention in the cellar and careful vineyard management mean you get a wine that speaks clearly of its terroir and tastes vibrant in every sip.

Abruzzo, Italy
The Abruzzo winemaking region is in the centre of the Italian "boot". The Apennines run along its western border which include Corno Grande, the highest point on mainland Italy. The mountains temper the climate, blocking many storms that come in from the west.
Abruzzo is dominated by cooperatives. About 80% of all wine from Abruzzo is made by co-ops located in hotter areas like Chieti.
Cantina Orsogna was created in 1964. It is the largest producer of organic and biodynamic wines in the south of Italy. It has been certified biodynamic since 2005 and has been organic producers for more than 30 years.
Under the Lunaria brand they support the activities of the WWF LIFE Euroturtles project to protect turtles in the Mediterranean.
The name comes from the Greek port Monemvasia, through which many wines.
In Italy there are at least 10 forms of Malvasia. Malvasia Toscana is commonly blended with Trebbiano. Malvasia Puntinata is small-berried and superior. White Malvasia tends to be a deeply coloured, alcoholic with a propensity to oxidise easily. It has a nutty character, sometimes with notes of orange peel and dried fruits.
