This is a wine with typical French charm. Brouilly is the southernmost of the Beaujolais crus, stretching out at the foot of Mont Brouilly and overlooked by the church "Notre-Dame aux Raisins" - Our Lady of the Grapes - which watches over the harvest.
This is a fruity wine which is destined to be enjoyed whilst still in its youth. It has a wonderfully expressive ruby colour in the glass. On the nose it bursts with bright red berry aromas. On the palette it has flavours of plum and small red fruit. There's an alluring spiciness too and some nuanced mineral notes.
It's the perfect, playful, expression of the gamay grape.

The house’s eponymous founder, Evgueni Louis Max, hailed from Georgia, which many believe is the birthplace of winemaking. He inherited his passion from his father, a wine merchant who had been a soldier in Tsar Alexander I’s army.
