This Californian Chardonnay brings everything you hope for with a powerful full body with ripe stone fruit balanced by beautifully oaked notes. The wine spends 12 months in both steel tanks and French oak to both preserve some natural freshness and fruit character as well as bring toasted oak notes of caramel and spice. The aroma and palate reveal notes of ripe pear, dried apricot and delicious golden apples. A deliciously versatile wine.

Food
Enjoy as an aperitif or pair with chicken and grilled fish entrees, creamy vegetable soups or a selection of your favourite cheeses..

Region
The fog influenced Napa Valley is home to many of California’s premium wineries. This famous valley around the natural springs of Oakville, includes the thin strip of soil known as the Rutherford Bench where some of the state’s most highly prized vineyards are planted. It is where great Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay are grown and sublime Pinot Noirs from the southern Carneros end of the valley.

Chardonnay

One of the world’s most popular grapes, Chardonnay is made in a wide range of styles from lean, sparkling Blanc de Blancs to rich, creamy white wines aged in oak.

Depending on how ripe the grapes get, the flavour ranges from crisp, clean citrus and green apple, to ripe peaches and tropical fruit. Notable Chardonnays can be found in France, California, Australia, England, and beyond.

USA

The United States has a short winemaking history, but what it lacks in age it makes up for with vigour.

It is the 4th biggest wine producer in the world. Every state has some wineries. Good, cool climate styles come from New York state, Oregon and Washington State. Warmer styles are found in California where Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon lead the way.
