Argentina

Argentina is the fifth largest producer of wine in the world. Thanks to the high altitude and low humidity of the main wine producing regions, Argentinian vineyards rarely face problems with insects, fungi, molds and other grape diseases that affect vineyards in other countries.

There are many grape varieties cultivated in Argentina. The French brought Malbec, the Italians brought a version of Bonarda (though not the one from Piedmont), whilst Torrontés is an indigenous variety.
