Château d’Avrillé Sauvignon Blanc captures the pure, invigorating freshness that has made the Loire Valley the spiritual and historical home of Sauvignon Blanc. Crafted by Charles-Eusèbe Biotteau – the latest generation of the Biotteau family, who have managed the domaine since 1938 – this wine reflects both deep local heritage and a modern, sustainably minded approach. The estate sits in the heart of Anjou, where cool Atlantic breezes, rolling hills and a mosaic of limestone, schist and clay create ideal conditions for producing bright, aromatic white wines with natural tension.

The vineyards benefit from the Loire’s unique microclimate: long, gentle ripening seasons that preserve crisp acidity, intense citrus lift and the subtle herbal tones that define classic Sauvignon Blanc. Château d’Avrillé’s commitment to High Environmental Value (HVE) farming ensures the purity of fruit is protected from vineyard to bottle.

In the glass, expect vibrant lemon zest, green apple and white peach, supported by hints of freshly cut herbs and wet stone. The palate is clean, mineral and refreshing, with that unmistakable Loire Valley vibrancy and a precise, mouth-watering finish.

This Sauvignon Blanc is wonderfully versatile at the table: ideal with soft goat’s cheese (a regional classic), grilled or baked white fish, shellfish, asparagus dishes, zesty salads or light vegetarian plates. It’s a wine built for fresh, unfussy food – and for anyone seeking an authentic taste of Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc at its crisp, lively best.

Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc is found all over the world, although it probably orignates from south west France, hence the name which comes from sauvage "wild" and blanc "white".

In cool climates it produces wines with flavours of grass, green peppers and nettles with some tropical fruit and floral notes. In warmer climates more tropical fruit notes such as peach are noticeable.
