In 1905 François Descombe first left his village of Saint-Étienne-des-Oullières to deliver barrels of his Beaujolais wine to the bistros of Lyon. His son, Florent, later took over the business, followed by his son François, then another Florent.
Now the fifth generation is represented by Marine, Kevin and François. The estate has expanded to include vineyards in Beaujolais and Burgundy. This fifth generation work organically and have introduced agro-forestry principles, such as planting trees within the vineyard, to increase the biodiversity.
