Austria

Known as the “Alpine Republic”, Austria has diverse climates and soils which provide ideal conditions to produce fine wines. In fact, Austria has been producing wine for centuries with winemaking dating back to the Celts and Romans in around 700 BC.

The flagship wine grape is Grüner Veltliner, which covers 37 % of Austria’s vineyards and dates from the 10th century.
