German wine is well-known for its white wines, particularly Riesling. The country has a long winemaking tradition dating back to the Roman Empire, and today it is the fourth largest producer of wine in Europe. German wine is highly valued for its quality and crips acidity.

German wine is classified based on ripeness levels, with the most famous being “Kabinett”, “Spätlese”, and “Auslese”.  The wine regions are diverse, ranging from the warm and dry to the cool and mountainous, allowing for a range of styles.
