Aragón
The Aragón wine region is located in northeastern Spain, bordered by Navarra to the north, Catalonia to the east, Valencia to the south, and Castilla-La Mancha to the west. It is one of the largest wine regions in Spain, producing a wide range of wines, including red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines.
The region is divided into three sub-regions: Somontano, Campo de Borja, and Cariñena. Somontano is known for its full-bodied red wines. Campo de Borja is known for its Garnacha-based red wines, which are often referred to as "the wine of the popes" due to their historical significance. Cariñena is known for its Garnacha-based red wines.
