There are three distinct sub-regions (Rioja Alta, Rioja Oriental and Rioja Alavesa) and four classifications (Joven, Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva), giving innovative winemakers endless possibilities to craft stunning wines.

Tempranillo has been grown on the Iberian Peninsula since the time of Phoenician settlements which date back to 500BC. An early ripening variety its name is the diminutive of the Spanish temprano (early). 

It thrives on chalky soils and is found predominantly in the Spanish regions of Ribera del Duero and Rioja. In Portugal it is known as Tinto Roriz. When vinified alone it has flavours of strawberries and plums.

A family run winery founded in 1990 in the village of Agoncillo. During this time, continual dedication and a passion for the wines they produce has been constant. Francisco is proud of every bottle that leaves his family winery.

The winery combines modern technology with traditional wine making methods. The wines exude a true expression of the land.
