This delicious Syrah from the south of France is made with grapes from a selection of vines on the Languedoc hillsides. The Versant Syrah vines are situated on south-facing hills near Maraussan where the soil is made up of chalky ‘terres blanches’ ideal for growing Syrah.

In the glass the wine has a deep red colour with dark purple tints. The nose has complex aromas of red fruits, peonies, white pepper and juniper berries.

The palate is full and fresh with hints of citrus peel and liquorice. The mouthfeel is smooth tannins with a touch of bitter cocoa on the finish.

Pair this with rosemary roasted rack of lamb, wild boar with honey or ewe’s cheese.

The Languedoc is a vast region stretching across much of the south and Mediterranean and is France`s single largest vineyard entity for its Vins de Pays wines.
