Le Versant Viognier is a beautifully balanced white wine from the south of France. In the glass it is brightly coloured with green tints. It is has rich aromas of apricot, ripe peach and ginger. The palate is strong and generous with a creamy texture and a long lingering finish thanks to some ageing on the fine lees.

The Versant Viognier vines are situated on sunny, north-facing slopes in the Aude department. The soil, composed of chalky ‘terres blanches’, is ideal for the Viognier grape.

Serve as an aperitif, with tuna and ginger tartare or try it with veal tagine with apricots.

Languedoc-Rousillon, France

The Languedoc is a vast region stretching across much of the south and Mediterranean and is France`s single largest vineyard entity for its Vins de Pays wines.

Within the Languedoc lie several distinctly identified Vins de Pays (including the l`Aude, Gard and Hérault) and many appellations that maintain traditional local blends and styles such as Minervois, Corbières, Pic Saint Loup and Fitou.

Viognier

Viognier originated in the Rhône Valley (in Southern France). It is a full bodied variety that loves warm climates. It is often left on the vines for a long time which allows its aromatic profile to develop. Common flavours and aromas include tangerine, apricot, apple, honeysuckle, baking spices, and ginger.

Prior to its renaissance, Viognier was reduced to just a few plantings, now the variety flourishes in Southern Rhône and Languedoc.
