Chatellier Muscadet La Prestige du Coin aux Lièvres is a beautifully crafted Loire white, proudly produced by the Chatellier family—now in the hands of Mathilde Chatellier, who represents the seventh generation of dedicated vignerons. Over the decades, the Chatellier family has built a strong reputation in Muscadet, earning numerous regional and national awards, with the Prestige du Coin aux Lièvres itself awarded a Gold Medal at the Concours de Paris.

This wine is made sur lie, spending extended time on its fine lees in traditional underground glass-lined vats. This ageing lends a gently creamy texture, while preserving the bright, bracing acidity that Muscadet fans love.

On the nose, you’ll find lively citrus (think lemon and lime), green apple, and a whisper of white blossom. On the palate, those fruit notes are joined by subtle pear and a striking mineral backbone, with a delicate saline lift—evidence of both its Atlantic-influenced terroir and lees ageing.

Though elegant, this wine doesn’t shy away from character: it’s refreshing, precise and remarkably balanced. Pair it with oysters, fresh mussels, razor clams or simply grilled seabass to let its clean acidity, lees-derived richness and saline nuance really shine.

The 600-mile stretch of the Loire River valley and its tributaries make up one of France's top wine regions. The wines include famous names such as Muscadet, Pouilly-Fumé, Vouvray, and Sancerre.

Best known for white wines, the most popular grape varieties are Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, and Melon de Bourgogne. Red wines are made with Cabernet Franc and Gamay. Some of the best examples come from Saumur Champigny.

Melon de Bourgogne

Melon de Bourgogne is a variety of white grape grown primarily in the Loire Valley region of France. It is best known as the only permitted variety in Muscadet.

The grape provides a great wine with apple and citrus notes with hints of minerality on the finish. Generally made as a still dry style, though sometimes used in the production of Crémant.
