This 1er Cru wine is 100% Chardonnay and is grown on limestone slopes surrounding the village of Rully.
It is delicate yet lively and has developed rich aromas of stewed apple, brioche, exotic fruits and hazelnuts. Smooth and round in the mouth with a fine acidity, it finishes long with a small amount of oak ageing bringing nuances of buttery oak which linger on the palate.
This is an absolute winner, punching well above other big name Burgundies.
Rully is on of the five communes that make up the Cote Chalonnaise. This famouse wine growing region lies between the Cote de Beaune to the north and the Maconnais to the south. The Maconnais is centred around the town of Macon, and has a warmer climate than a lot Burgundy due to its southern position and proximity to the warmer Rhone valley.
