In the glass this classic Mâconnais white wine shows a pale lemon in colour. The nose has citrus and apple notes, a hint of white blossom and faint traces of butter.

Apple and citrus predominate on the palate along with a hint of pear. Their is no oak used in the vinification giving this a lovely streak of steely minerality on the finish. A refreshing citric acidity matches the roundness on the palate with fresh fruit flavours lingering on the palate.

Served chilled as an aperitif with hors d`oeuvres, seafood, grilled fish, white meats and goats cheese salad.

More Information

Burgundy, France

Burgundy (or Bourgogne in French) is small in size, the Côte d'Or has about 8000 hectares under vine, yet its influence is immense. It is home to some of the best known and most expensive wines in the world. Look in the right places and there is great quality and superb value to be found.

The two major grapes are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, though you can find small pockets of well-made Aligoté.

Mickeal Marillier, Domaine de Rochebin

It’s been more than 25 years since Mickael's first vintage as head winemaker. This third generation vigneron says he still loves the first day of harvest. It’s not always smiles though, there have been many challenges from freak hail storms to droughts.

Mickael believes in the potential of his home region - consumers can count on Mâconnais to keep producing great quality wines at affordable prices

One of the world’s most popular grapes, Chardonnay is made in a wide range of styles from lean, sparkling Blanc de Blancs to rich, creamy white wines aged in oak.

Depending on how ripe the grapes get, the flavour ranges from crisp, clean citrus and green apple, to ripe peaches and tropical fruit. Notable Chardonnays can be found in France, California, Australia, England, and beyond.
