Vaucoupin has the charisma of great Chablis: freshness, volume, structure, and chalky minerality. Nestled on the right bank of the Serein, in the town of Chichée, this Premier Cru covers 45 hectares.

Made from 100% Chardonnay harvested from 40-year-old vines, matured on lees for 4-5 months. The wine spends 10 months in 100% stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and fruitiness of the wine.

The nose is fruity and elegant. It reveals notes of ripe lemon, ripe clementine and hints of yellow plum and fresh peach.

The palate is fruity, fresh, well-balanced, and racy. It stands out for its beautiful tension, marked minerality and elegant structure , with a long, saline finish .

This can be kept for 8 to 10 years. It will develop aromas of almond and leather with ripe fruit as it ages.

Enjoy this with fish in Hollandaise sauce, lobster salad or aged goat's cheese.

Burgundy, France

Burgundy (or Bourgogne in French) is small in size, the Côte d'Or has about 8000 hectares under vine, yet its influence is immense. It is home to some of the best known and most expensive wines in the world. Look in the right places and there is great quality and superb value to be found.

The two major grapes are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, though you can find small pockets of well-made Aligoté.

Chardonnay

One of the world’s most popular grapes, Chardonnay is made in a wide range of styles from lean, sparkling Blanc de Blancs to rich, creamy white wines aged in oak.

Depending on how ripe the grapes get, the flavour ranges from crisp, clean citrus and green apple, to ripe peaches and tropical fruit. Notable Chardonnays can be found in France, California, Australia, England, and beyond.
