Céline and Frédéric Gueguen both come from winemaking families (Céline is the daughter of Jean-Marc Brocard) and established their 36 hectare estate in 2013. Their Bourgogne vines are thirty years old and located just beyond the boundary of the Chablis appellation in the village of Préhy. The vines produce a delicious, crisp and steely chardonnay.
This a full, pure and simply beautiful wine. Pale yellow in colour, it expresses aromas of white flowers, almonds and toast. The palate has great minerality thanks to the unique terroir of Côtes Salines, with a long honeyed finish.
This can be drunk now, but it will age gracefully.
Serve with white meat, shellfish, or cheeses such as Soumaintrain, Epoisses or Langres.
In the Press
"This Côtes Salines from a dynamic estate in Chablis shows appealing creamy/lactic notes on the nose, good concentration on the palate and crisp acidity to keep everything in check. A fine example of Bourgogne Chardonnay with mineral, stony characters on the finish and plenty of freshness and complexity. Definitely shows the effect of the cooler, more northerly terroir."
