This wine will sharpen your senses with aromas of dried apricot and vanilla as well as a lick of minerality on a long finish. Vinified and aged in old French oak barrels gives this wine texture and delicious toasty and buttery notes.

The Berthenet estate is located in Montagny-les-Buxy, a typical Burgundian village. The Berthenet family has been growing vines for 4 centuries and vinifies its cuvées from the best hillsides of the village. Since 2000, the domaine has been engaged in sustainable and environmentally friendly viticulture, using the least plant protection products and respecting the environment.

This pairs well with shellfish and seafood.

Chardonnay

One of the world’s most popular grapes, Chardonnay is made in a wide range of styles from lean, sparkling Blanc de Blancs to rich, creamy white wines aged in oak.

Depending on how ripe the grapes get, the flavour ranges from crisp, clean citrus and green apple, to ripe peaches and tropical fruit. Notable Chardonnays can be found in France, California, Australia, England, and beyond.

Burgundy, France

Burgundy (or Bourgogne in French) is small in size, the Côte d'Or has about 8000 hectares under vine, yet its influence is immense. It is home to some of the best known and most expensive wines in the world. Look in the right places and there is great quality and superb value to be found.

The two major grapes are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, though you can find small pockets of well-made Aligoté.
