A combination of older vines and experienced winemakers give consistently great results in Marlborough on New Zealand's South Island. Timing has to be spot on and erractic weather has to be accounted for. When that happens, the magic of Marlborough shines through.

James Leary has bags of experience and that's why Snapper Rock received a 5* Wine Orbit review last year and wine expert Matthew Jukes described it as: "the best-value Kiwi Sauvignon I’ve had so far this year, with clean, bright lemon and lime lines and a frisky, crisp finish."

It's fresh and gorgeously aromatic with kiwifruit and lemon zest aromas. It's powerfully expressed on the palate delivering juicy fruit intensity backed by vibrant acidity. Upfront and delectably appealing, making it highly enjoyable.

Pair this with seafood, fish, herb-based dishes and chicken in cream sauce.

New Zealand

New Zealand is a newcomer to the wine world. As recently as 1960 the country had just 400 hectares of vines.

The country's two islands (North Island and South Island) cover an enourmous area, encompassing many possibilities. The maritime climate is influenced by the strong prevailing winds off the Pacific Ocean and the striking mountainous terrain.

Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc is found all over the world, although it probably orignates from south west France, hence the name which comes from sauvage "wild" and blanc "white".

In cool climates it produces wines with flavours of grass, green peppers and nettles with some tropical fruit and floral notes. In warmer climates more tropical fruit notes such as peach are noticeable.
